Back in the sunny summer of 2000 the APOLLO 11 Skate Project was born. No money, learning to walk after spinal surgery and a great friend by my side, Sallyanne agreed to a crazy plan.

Start up a new skate boarding shop, buy, sell, teach and have fun plus throu and this Longboard and with this exciting Extreme Sports Organisation we will help young disadvantaged people. Profits to young Skateboarders and Longboarders who have, learning and physical disabilities, help victims of domestic violence, drug addicts and so on, without prejudgment or discrimination of any kind.

The end goal was to find at least four young folk to run the show and when ready the ownership would be handed to them. Well years on, over 1800 people through our doors we are well on the way. Marcus Gregson and Tom “FuzZy” Beaumont have stood the test of time; they have been with us for nearly five years and the hand over has started.

To say they are passionate about Skating and Longboards would be an understatement, it goes a lot further than this, they are true family members that want to progress to help others less fortunate. Both now work in the UK, USA and Canada helping people in need, they race Longboards and Skateboards at world level and hold there own well in this competitive environment.

Longboard and skating doesn’t have to be about competitions, far from it, the fun factor is what it is all about.

These two Guys came to us as young boys and now they are adults who have become fine ambassadors for this great sport and are well on there way to becoming young business men, we truly thank them for all there hard work; Sallyanne and I feel humbled to be there friends and mentors.

FuzZy and Marcus may be the first to graduate from APOLLO 11 but let’s not forget, Shane “O”, Jay and Rasta Jonno, three great guys who we have a very special bond with and no doubt they will achieve the same level of success in the Longboarding and Skateboarding world.

APOLLO 11 will continue to be non for profit, so FuzZy and Marcus will earn a living from the Import and Export Company they help set up. Keep your eye out for Oceanside Imports and we ask all skateboarders and Longboarders to support them, thank you.

Steve Hopper the creator of Insect Skateboards, Seattle USA has embraced these two guys, taken them under his wing and acted as a great role model for them, teaching them the art of building hand crafted high tech Carbon Fibre / Nano Tech racing long boards and skateboards. Steve we all thank you so much for this important help with there progress.

New to the family is a great Guy from Holland, a 20 year old skater who for very personal reasons has chosen to make the skate world and snowboarding his career. JJ is not new to the highs and lows of this great industry as he ran a skate shop in Amsterdam for nearly 4 years.

Marcus and FuzZy found him, hit it off from day one and hey presto we have a great Guy who speaks, Dutch, German and a little French. So JJ is a natural choice to help distribute brands into Europe.

JJ’s early home life was not easy, loving parents yes but school life truly was not easy, now alone in a strange country away from friends and family it almost seems ironic that skating has a bad image with many folk but when JJ needed help and support that help came from kids that themselves had struggled and suffered discrimination.

So if you call the shop and here a voice with a Dutch accent then you know you are in the safe hands of JJ. Without cool dudes like, JJ, Marcus, Tom aka “FuzZy”, Jonno, Dangerous Dave, Jay, Shane, Andy, Elliott and all the helpers, we would be nothing, thanxs to all.

Hopefully joining the family and team is a great friend Andy Allwright from Vancouver B.C Canada. Andy is an amazing Longboarder who goes back five years with APOLLO 11 and hopefully 2009 will see him crossing the pond to join APOLLO 11 and Oceanside Imports.

We are who we are, moulded by our past actions, so we must thank all the amazing young dudes and dudesses who have made APOLLO 11 so colour full and worked dam hard through good and bad times, highs so high and lows that can break the hardest we owe our exsistense to amazing individuals like Owen Fisher who gave up over four years to make us what we are today, so a massive and sincer thank you goes out to all.....
